Malta English College (MEC)
WELCOME
Malta English College, or MEC, is an English-language school established in late 2020 during COVID-19 to teach young people aged 13 to 21 soft skills, personal development, and EU values by using non-formal teaching skills and a youth-centered approach. MEC also promotes awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Developmental Goals, the EU Youth Goals, financial education, cultural and natural heritage preservation, healthy lifestyles, long-term sustainable youth development, and environmental protection.
ABOUT US
MEC is an inclusive English school and club that offers a place for young people to come together, form friendships, enhance their ability to make decisions, learn EU values and EU culture, develop labour market skills, develop life skills and critical competencies for their personal, social, and professional development, cultivate positive relationships with others and themselves, and most importantly, learn English non-formally and have fun. These young people may include underprivileged youth, youth with fewer opportunities, migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and youth from disadvantaged families living across Malta. Through student and/or youth cooperation and active citizenship on a European and global scale.
Currently, the school also has a youth group made up of 32 Maltese students and young people from diverse communities who live across the island of Malta.
